There's this sense of science, rationality and technology permeates the novel. The things that thwart dracula are bound up with superstition and folklore. They don't defeat him with these modern gadgets and even things like e winchester rifles. And they're not the things that defeat him. So what are we being invited to to consider? I don't know, is it set up as as patronizing and as xenophobic as it seems? But yet, i think it's definitely there. E arin there with seward's character. O certainly it's certinly being patronizing about it, isn't thered.
