"We need to have this like mastery of over my kindness and my ability to be kind," she says. "It needs to be this thing that is continually regenerative inside of my soul where the kindness doesn't run out." She was mentored by a spiritual leader who taught her greatness and kindness could not coexist. The pair are now working together at Mosaic in Los Angeles.
It is easier to become smart than to become wise. People think you're wise because you're smart and you can outsmart a lack of wisdom. When you're running on your intelligence without wisdom, it's like running down a mountain and having an avalanche behind you. It will catch up with you eventually.
You can survive on being a good communicator, having a lot of charisma and engaging people in sales. But if you don't have character, it's the crux of the other three. It won't matter how good your communication is or how great of a leader you are, without character, your company will collapse. Most people who are highly focused on scaling are really oftentimes blind to sustaining.
