Roxanne Jones: Stallman was coming out of this context of political struggles at MIT, and then the broader co-option of the software industry by people who were profit seeking. She says his responses that he came up with were either to engineer around the problem by creating something likeGNU or resorting to clever legal tricks. Jones: There's so much less to support sort of class collaborationist ideology within the tech sector. But I think we may have some better opportunities at this point to put the class collaborationism aside and speak more honestly about opposition to capitalism.
