How do you get students, early on in a semester to feel comfortable talking to the person next to them? Whattor some techniques that you use. We have quicker questions interspersed throughout the class. There can be a full question that is sort of like a quiz question or potential exam question that has no answers at all. So i ask them to work on it first together with someone next to them, and then i'll walk around and answer questions for a fwo minutes,. Then we'll come back up and discuss it together. It's another way to wake up and kind of change focus for a few minutes and keep them going in that learning experience in the classroom.
