Afro-Kriolism - The Story of Kaya
Kaya's death forced politicians to acknowledge the discontent of the Afro-Kriol community. Veronique Topiz eventually received 4.5 million rupees, around $9,000 in a settlement from the government. President Uteem kept his promise of a judicial inquiry into Kaya's death. The state recognises the wrong was done by representatives of the state to Kaya and his families.
