The History of Parental Rights in Homeschooling

The idea of parental rights as an organizing principle was first associated with subcultures of the religious right. When I hear parental rights it brings up images of me of parents denying like life saving medicine for their kids because of their religious views. The state can't tell me how to educate my child. They're not going to let me take my children to church. That's the thing. We just didn't have the internet.
