Do You Research Before You Start a UX Design?

The search pair on desktop was at the top which is the visual hierarchy but that got imported over to our mobile phones and now I've been using Firefox for many years. When you start to do ideation or trying to solve a problem don't research first, it goes against everything a research UX designer is supposed to just do a couple hours of yourself. Just intuition, your gut, because go with your gut and then laugh that away and then go to the research and then from those findings do the same thing againDo your ideation and just see where you delineate it and where you diverged, it's interesting to think about it.
