I'm a psychologist, I come from that background. That's what drove me into politics, the power of how you get people to participate. The British public are not daft. We have to change the culture of how we do politics and the practice of participation is different from accountability. Accountability is a ballot box but participation is something different. People often conflate the two. Puerto Allegra cooked 20 years for people to build up a movement of people involved in part of the budgeting. If basically what helps us tackle diabetes is those Asian men recruiting other Asian men and women to be part of their walking group then how do we fast track that process as that's what healthcare system locally should
