Is the Shroud a Medieval Fake?

There have been all kinds of debunkers along the way in Italy. Some people have pretended that Christians are out there saying that the case for Christianity rests upon the authenticity of the shroud. Like we would sleep easy tonight if we got a new test saying, hey, you know what, the shroud is medieval and it doesn't tell us anything about the suffering. I think that would be kind of unfortunate.
