The book documents some very clear practical consequences of ignoring these hidden histories of disputes around dead bodies. One of the things that really surprised me was, hi little, for example, we use the information that come out of coroner's inquest. We underfunded the coroner service for a very long time and so people were really pushed to do inquest. Some of us pushed so much, actually, that handwriting was illegible. Another tension that I touch on is that we've had a number of organ donation campaigns but it didn't and was not based on any substantive research.
