Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Sweeping Action to Quell the Ongoing Protests in Canada
The federal government has invoked the emergencies act. That act, formerly known as the war powers act, gives the federal government of canada sweeping powers to essentially enact martial law across the country and to suspend its own citizen's rights. The scope of these measures will be time limited, geographically targeted, as well as reasonable and proportionate. In addition, the government announced an expansion to laws formerly targeted at domestic funding of terrorists to include those who have made and taking donations to and from the truckers. A hack of the crowd funding web site give end go leaked the names of thousands of donors to the convoy,. resulting in both canadian and american media embarking upon targeted harassment of said donors
