Is Taxation Really the Root of the Conflict?

The majority of Albanians in Kosovo convert to Islam. The reason why a lot of people converted to Islam, they took place to avoid a jizya. Jizya is a tax on non-muslims. Maybe we could say that taxation is actually the root of all of the conflict here. I don't know. What do you think? There's more Islam during the Ottoman Empire than the actual Arab Empire.
