There is a perceived inverse correlation between plain spokenness and intelligence. The more complex the text, the less we think that the author was a smarty pance. So there are two sides of the argument about communicating in a simple, plain way. I can see the value on both sides. But i think you can communicate that your idea or theory is not fool proof without listing the caviats and exceptions in great, great detail.
