The BBC's Complaints Process Is Difficult
I think they're clearly leaning into this division over Gary Linnaker and thinking that maybe that can expose a bit of a dividing line between themselves and Labour. Also I suppose Amber DeBotton is not a BBC person, even though she's a media person,. And I think that comes through in some small choices around who's given an interview and so on. The BBC doesn't want to be on one side of an argument as Alva's just been describing with reference to this small boat story. He doesn't want his main stars seen as being on one side or the other. It's just that you will always get political pressures. The BBC has to do the right and independent thing
