The First Martyrs of the Church of Rome

The first martyrs of the church of Rome had this reputation as well of just going into the grain and being that salt in the world. How many martyrs, how many of them died? Do we know a number that we don't know? We don't really know much about the numbers. It's fascinating to ponder that they had read the book or the letters that Saint Paul wrote to them shortly after he gave their lives for the church.
