The Rise of the Streaming Industry
Netflix got a deal on the 2008, 100 day writer's strike. This is what they ended up getting. They got 1.2% of grocery seats on rental. So this goes out to DVD. Ad supported streaming. There wasn't even a subscription streaming at this point. And there was nothing on subscription streaming. The whole point is it's really expensive to run these streaming business because how much you pay for content. I think last year, Disney Netflix paid combined like 20 to 30 billion.
