Franklin's Autobiography - The Library Company

In Franklin's autobiography he says that there were now subscription libraries, like library company, all over the colonies. He said because of these libraries Americans had been so both resolute and articulate in their stand against the British. And books of course helped make Philadelphia feel even more cosmopolitan on the colonial side.
