The Ruhr is a strip of land that lies at the western edge of Germany, along the border with France. To this day it's the industrial heartland of Germany and vitally important to the nation's economy. In 1923 things go too far when Germany defaults on its reparation payments. If Germany stopped paying now, it was to say they'll ever start paying again. The worst things get for the German people?
