Initially, alcohol was an escape from his depression. But as things went on it became intertwined with the depresseng aspect of alcohol. It's interesting to hear that you were always still craving human connection. As your depression got worse, as the suicidal thoughts got worse, i think the more that we reflect as now on what causes depression in the vast majority of individuals in the western world,. That distinct lack of human and social connection that feeds into that allows it to get worse overtimes. Because you suffered with your mental health for longer, because you also had an escape mechanism within. This is a very slow form of torture, almost to some degree.
