Anne asked Marilla if she would like to have a bosom friend in avonlea. A bosom friend is someone with whom i can confide my inmost soul, said anne. Do you think it's possible? Diana barry lives over at orchard slope. She's about your age and perhaps she will be a playmate for you when she comes home. You'll have to be careful how you behave yourself, though. Missus barry is a very particular woman who won't let diana play with any little girl who isn't nice and good.
