The Pros and Cons of Buckley v. Viva

Buckley versus Viva was a very pro First Amendment decision. The court said you can limit political speech, whether as corruption and the kind of corruption it was focused on was quid pro quo corruption. You can't limit an independent campaign that's spending to support or oppose a candidate because there's a little potential corruption there. And you can have public funding for presidential elections because that's just producing more speech, not less speech.
