Beetroot on Burgers

Australian time is regulated by individual state governments, some of which observe daylight savings time. Australia's external territories observe different time zones as well. Burgers came as a byproduct of the blossoming relationship with American troops post World War I in the 1930s. Not until the 1940s was it believed that beetroot made its appearance on burgers as a part of a prank on US troops. B-trit became a staple part of the Australian diet before McDonald's cemented its place between a top burger patty during the 1950s and 60s.
