The Wrath of God
New York writer Cynthia Hymel wrote a piece some time ago in the Village Voice. She was reflecting on how several of her friends were struggling actors who got their acting career started you know off-Broadway and were living in closets. They got their break, made it to Hollywood, became Hollywood stars but all of them are emptier now than they were when they were struggling fiercely just to make ends meet. David Foster Wallace said that pretty much anything else you worship will eat you alive.
