Do You Have a Marketing Plan for Demon?
I wrote Demon in 2000, between 2002-2004. I then spent a couple of years trying to find an agent for it. Everybody felt it was too technical. And so I wound up self-publishing the book through Ingram. Back then, people, it was quite a stigma to self-publish a book. But back then, that was really an odd way to do it. We would approach technology people who I admired,. bloggers and other people whom I read frequently. By about 2007, we were selling thousands of copies of the book a week. Then Wired Magazine did an... That was really rewarding!
