Consciousness Studies

The author is best known for his work in consciousness studies and philosophy of mind. His new book focuses on the question of whether machines can be conscious. He argues that a physical system cannot give you consciousness, but it could explain our subjective experience of the world. But he says there's nothing special about biology so it's really all down to processing information.
