Israel has, I think, a dozen party or party alliances in the Knesset. They represent various demographic divides that cut through the Jewish Israeli polity. And two that come to mind are secular versus religious and Ashkenazi Jews of European origin versus the Mizrakeem from the Middle East. The hypocrisy is not a contradiction that can be exploited so much as like the hypocrisy is itself constitutive in some way of the alliance.
Featuring Edo Konrad and Joshua Leifer on how Zionism's long-running contradictions led to the current political crisis in Israel.
