The Radio Altimeter System Problems
Liki: There had been a history of issues with the radio altimeter in this airline and in others. Liki said they tried many things to try to resolve it, but it just kept recurring. The board believed that if the manufacturer had received more reports, then bowing might have recognized the need for renewed analysis of the system. Pilots were not informed of the problems because the problems within turkish airlines were considered to be a technical problem and not a threat to safety.
