The Sensor in a Wastewater Tree Plant

The sensor is an anode cathode pair fuel cell architecture. In theory, if you applied in a voltage, you'd be producing hydrogen on the cathode. But if you apply small voltages, you can convince or trick the bacteria into forming films on those surfaces. The bacteria form a biological catalyst and actually catalyzes the flow of electrons.
