I worked on the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Act, ugly title. There was a vote on the alternative voting system that lost by a healthy margin. On AV, that's not a proportional system. So we often kind of enlighte different voting systems and assume that electoral reform means that we'd have some proportional style system. But I actually think the experience is another co-author of the report here. The experiences that I lent on thinking about how all of this would work in government was less trying to get the legislation or referendum through and more looking at who gets access to decision making documents.
