The Guardian Origin Story
The Guardian was founded by John Edward Taylor in the aftermath of the Peter Loom massacre. Darshini: I'm from a working class background, my ancestors are from rural Scotland and then the urban northeast in the 19th century. And this is kind of a history that means a lot to me. So when did you realize what the Guardians links with the slave trade actually were? Well, embarrassingly belatedly.
