The Importance of Cryptographicly Signed Driver's Licenses
It's going to take the place of the relatively manual process right now of taking pictures of driver's licenses. So this is an undoubted improvement over that, I guess there's increased identity assurance. It's just much easier to know that that cryptographically signed driver's license from the DMV is much more real than the random picture that some person took on their iPhone. Which means better security in general. And then I think another big understated benefit here is that it's going to reduce the grip that credit bureaus have on identity in the United States right now.
