Liberalism first appeared as a way of governing over religiously diverse societies after the european wars of religion in the middle of the seventeenth century. The right wing arguments, you know, come out of the essence of liberalism - that it's slow to address social justice problems. And nationalists feel that a liberal society doesn't give an entire people a common cultural framework; they don't have the same traditions and views.
