Is There a Loss in the World?
Behind all of them is loss, or you could say the Buddhist word is change. And if that sense of the real gets strong enough, we get in touch with that which isn't lost. If I can really know myself as existence and really know the other person in their eternal reality, then I will not have to push away the grief when it comes for what is lost. But I can fully feel it, and it doesn't destroy me. It's actually referred to pretty directly in the Bible in the sense of the unfortunate friend.
