The Rest Is History

CHAPTER

The Battle of Versailles

King Louis Philippe fled to Versailles after being beaten at Waterloo and Sidon by the Prussians. He postponed a meeting with his ministers so that they could be removed from Elize Palace in time for planned anti-government protests. The police are expecting 50,000 protesters but communists claim there will be 400,000. This is a real turning point in France's history - if he had stayed it would have been much worse.
