The goal of the portrait of humans is climactic. The first humans up to bat for the job fail, and no other human ever embodies that ideal role of the humans on page one. And so it's a good example of how the biblical author have a set of goals in what they're trying to communicate. It raises all kinds of fascinating questions that we might have. But what i first want to tune into is what they care about and what they're communicating - which might be different than what i was expecting to hear in the first place.
