Revolutions
The Revolt of the Kronstadt Sailors
Trotsky's message was, submit or be destroyed. Kronstadt did not respond to this ultimatum, but instead continued to attack the communist leadership for using their power to enrich themselves at the people's expense. Those communists who refused to do so were arrested and held prisoner. Although no harm ever came to them they were all alive and well at the end of the rebellion. This was in contrast to kronstat rebels or sympathizers who fell into the hands of the cheka, who were generally summarily executed.
