The Spartan Foreign Policy

Aegis from Deca Lea took his army into central Greece on a campaign that reveals his and Sparta's first step towards a Spartan imperial foreign policy. Aegis tried to extort money from the Thessalonians in reprisal for an old hostility. He also took a number of hostages, which were then sent to Corinth for safekeeping. In time, the majority of the Spartans would come to realize that a more aggressive strategy would be needed.
