The Higgs Bozon in the Large Hadron Callider
The higs bozon was discovered almost ten years ago. The particle decays in this complicated way that gives two photons, one in one direction and one in the other direction. When you add up their energy, the energy of those two photons, it comes up to a certain number,. That's the mass of the s boson. And so we saw a lot of these particular kinds of collisions that led to this pattern of photons which all added up to the same number for the mass ofthe higs. It's like you saw the footprint of theHigs bozon in these two photons, right? Yes, exactly.
