The Budget Process Speeds Up
When there is a debt crisis, when there is some form of shutdown or jaw boning, how does the budget process change on Capitol Hill? I think if anything, it speeds up. There was a lot of hay made about Secretary Yellen moving the date for the debt ceiling up from June 5th to as early as June 1st yesterday. But the reality is that nobody does anything until the last minute anyway. We've got four weeks to get this resolved. That's plenty of time. And in fact, I would wager that it won't even start to come to an end until we get a 20 second.
