What's a Character Limit?
It was originally conceived as being usable from phones. It's actually why there was a pretty stringent character limit of a hundred and eighty because SMS was limited to a hundred sixty. They were like, right, if we're maxed out by SMS is limited of one sixty, let's say that we'll claim twenty characters for ourselves if we ever need them. There were issues then about, well, what's a character, right? And of course it being two thousand six.
