Is It an Emergency C-Section or Home Burst?
There's another potential complication that Jackie and I touched on last time of potential for cord prolapse. When the bag of water is broken either spontaneously or with artificial rupture of membranes the amniac sac is disrupted you're gonna get this gush of amniac fluid. A timely vaginal exam will feel the umbilical cord on top of the head of the fetus, which can cut off its own blood supply. You want to push the cord back in if it's possible on the way the OR for emergency c-section these are the cases where they have the so-called vaginal hand.
