The Power of YouTube in Turkey

William Armstrong has been watching the country for 12 years. He is one of BBC monitoring Stirky experts based in Istanbul. A lot of these videos lean heavily towards the opposition, but some have a more pro-government slant. One thing that unites all of them though is this rather sensationalist tone. They tend to emphasise outrageous exchanges between members of the public at a street market getting into blazing rouse about cucumbers.
