The Idea That Ideology Trumps Cronyism
In Britain up until the Thatcher era, there was this real ideal that you would get up during prime minister's questions or during floor debates and tear into each other. This is also something that I think has obtained in American politics,. But that ideal does kind of depend on a moment, a political moment where you don't think like one of the two parties is the death of democracy.
