St. Thomas, Is a Priest Sinful?
The 4.15 is a bold band and we don't want to substitute it, but there are seniors citizens who basically can't be there. So the question is, if priests are sinful, how are the laity supposed to know with which priests they should associate? St. Thomas O'Fernes distinguishes that from if a priest is sinning mortally, but people don't know. If one does not know that father Joe is actually father Joe bank robber, one can still be a saint because Christ still gives himself in the sacraments through that priest. It's much better to have St. John Vianney as your parish priest rather than father bank robber.
