Why Paris Is Still the Great Film City
A few years ago back when he was at the Village Voice, I had a plan to do this whole big piece on comparing New York and Paris as cinema cities. "I wanted to just spend some time in Paris just going to the theaters and trying to get a sense of the film culture here," says Cole. He never wound up writing that piece, but he remember doing his little tour of all the theater. “That's kind of what I was trying to do semi intentionally."
