Clyde Tolson came to the FBI in 1928 as a young man who had been working in and around DC for about a decade at that point like many early FBI officials he went to George Washington University. Neither one of them dated women Hoover certainly didn't there's some evidence Toulson maybe had a few slightly more serious relationships but I think we can only understand them as gay men okay?
