The Importance of Physical Pilgrimage for Christians
Many other faiths seem to place a higher premium on physical pilgrimages than Christianity does. I think there's a couple of reasons for that one is the earth is the lords and the fullness thereof. There are ways in which we secularize places and there are certain places that we can set aside, but it's not as if God is some place and not another. That's not the philosophy of creation on which everything's built. And you know, when you ask your question, the first thing that came to mind was Pilgrim's Progress. There you have the story of a pilgrimage, but life is the pilgrimage and we're all the pilgrim."
