Having People in Your Course Elevated Into Leadership Rolls

A year ago, when we had riht of passage and the course is getting bigger, we knew we needed a way to make a bigger course feel small. The number one shift we had with these groups where we want to put students in small groups and pare them with a menter. Rather than telling someone they have to go meet people, students have the agency to choose which group they want to join. We have just seen higher rates of participation, higher rates of consistent attendance, more friendships being formed, more learning happening from this one change.
