How Did You Make That Safe Space?

How did you make that safe space when it wasn't perceived to be? I think some of it is just the access. We looked for people who weren't afraid to give us feedback, but also gave us constructive feedback. And then i think the last part is being really thoughtful about who you select and how you position what ou're asking them to do.
