Foraging Techniques for Flying Cockroaches
Caterpillars use a very junior version of that. Mathematically those kinds of things where you are kind of snaking a curve through a whole space, are called space filling curves. And so they're these different kinds of systematic foraging techniques. I suspect that flies, if they are doing something where they are trying to find things, may have simpler technique that's more of a random walk.
